Short description
Bed linen sewing includes closing seams and combined closing and serging operations. Both lockstitch and combined chainstitch/overlock constructions are used in the AMANN application recommendations.
Closing and serging seams
Closing and edge finishing can be carried out in one sewing operation.
The application guide specifies a 401 + 504 3-thread overlock stitch.
The recommended configuration is:
- Needle thread: Saba 120
- Tex 24
- Looper thread: Saba 120
- Tex 24
- Minimum needle size: Nm 65 / No. 9
Lockstitch closing seams
301 lockstitch can also be used for closing bed linen.

Thread combinations
The thread position depends on the seam construction.
