Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)

Maximum resistance for extreme outdoor and chemical environments.

Intro

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a highly resistant fluoropolymer fibre offering very high heat and chemical resistance together with excellent resistance to UV radiation, weathering, rot and biological attack. These characteristics make PTFE particularly suitable for long-life seams exposed to demanding outdoor or chemical environments.

Properties

  • Very high heat resistance
  • Very high chemical resistance; insoluble in organic solvents
  • Very good UV, weather, rot and moth resistance

Temperatures

  • Decomposition temperature: approx. 325°C
