Bangladesh

The Future of Work Starts with People.

Bangladesh is experiencing significant economic and social transformation. As the country continues to develop, expectations around work, family life, personal growth and equal opportunities are evolving as well. Organizations increasingly face the challenge of creating workplaces that remain attractive, inclusive and future-ready in a rapidly changing environment.

At the center of this transformation are the employees themselves. They experience these changes firsthand, bring diverse perspectives and understand better than anyone where challenges and opportunities exist in their daily lives. Their experiences provide the foundation for meaningful and sustainable progress.

To better understand these needs and perspectives, the Hanns A. Pielenz Foundation partnered with AMANN Bangladesh and the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh to launch a research initiative focused on the future of work and social development. The partnership combines academic expertise, practical business experience and the voices of local employees.

The Foundation enables this collaboration by supporting the research framework and creating opportunities for dialogue between employees, researchers and business leaders. The initiative explores topics such as family-friendly workplaces, gender equality, future skills and the broader question of how organizations can prepare for the expectations of future generations.

The project is already generating valuable insights. It highlights the challenges employees face, identifies opportunities for improvement and provides a deeper understanding of the conditions that contribute to wellbeing, inclusion and long-term development. At the same time, it fosters a shared vision of what sustainable and people-centered workplaces can look like.

The next step is to translate these insights into practical and locally relevant solutions. The long-term ambition is to create workplace models that support people in balancing professional and personal aspirations while helping organizations remain resilient, competitive and prepared for the future. Because lasting change begins when people are empowered to actively shape the future, they want to be part of.
