Basalt-tech is a sewing thread made of stone fibres and consists of basalt multifilament.
The sewing thread Basalt-tech is a natural product as it is made of 100% basalt. The sewing thread combines the most diverse properties in one sewing thread: it is non-conductive, as well as resistant to chemicals, corrosion, rot and UV
Basalt-tech sewing thread offers extremely high temperature resistance with a continuous temperature resistance up to approx. 650°C and a softening temperature at approx. 1050°C.
Basalt-tech is used as a sewing thread for technical textiles, e.g. as a sewing thread for flame retardant textiles or as a sewing thread for filtration.
