AMANN supports Swedish student in the creation of a sustainable, water-repellent training jacket

Jogging is not always a pleasure during the wet and cold winter months. One is lucky, if he/she can use a jacket that is specially designed for such cold and rainy days.

AMANN regularly supports students of textile or technical studies with know-how and thread donations. Recently we received a request from Susanne Lundberg, a student at the Swedish School of Textiles in Borås, for an environmentally friendly, water-repellent sewing thread to be used in an innovative training jacket. The training jacket, which is the result of Lundberg's final thesis, is not only an eye-catcher but also has excellent functional properties. It consists of 100% polyester and is sewn with Saba WRe, AMANN's new water-repellent, PFC-free sewing thread. The inner material is made of merino wool, which promotes body temperature regulation and absorbs the smell of perspiration. The jacket has a close-fitting cut, plus ventilation at the front and back to counteract the heat generated by the body during intense movement. In addition, Lundberg stated that the goal was "to create a jacket that the owner really wants to use for a long time, and which is at the same time as recyclable as possible at the end of its life cycle" in response to the increased demand for sustainably produced textiles.
